Title:Researchers from Potsdam discover why tendons are as strong as steel ropes
(Potsdam) A team at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPIKG) has discovered new properties of collagen: During the intercalation of minerals in collagen fibres, a contraction tension is generated that is a hundred times stronger than muscle strength.
